About

claireClaire Åkebrand is a Swede who grew up in Germany and Utah. Her poems have appeared in BOAAT, Manchester Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, and elsewhere.

Her first novel, The Field Is White, is forthcoming with Kernpunkt Press (kernpunktpress.com) in 2017. Her first poetry collection, What Was Left Of The Stars, will be published by Serpent Club Press (serpentclub.org).

She has been eternally a Poetry MFA student at the University of Utah. She lives in Provo with the poet Michael Lavers and their two children and their zero pugs. She doesn’t think there is anything inherently wrong with owning pugs.
